About

Yo. I was born in 1984 and I'm from Amesbury, Massachusetts. I grew up skateboarding and playing goal in hockey. After studying architecture in college, I moved to St. Croix in the Virgin Islands. I worked doing print and graphic design. At the end of 2010 I was in a serious car accident, leaving me paralyzed from the neck down with only limited use of my arms. I have no function in my hands and I use a wheelchair. I spent 3 or 4 weeks in the ICU at MGH in Boston, and then another 4 months at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital. About a month after the accident I began drawing with the aid of a recreational therapist (shout out to Ashley). With her supporting the weight of my arm, and by using a splint on my hand to hold the pen, I was able to do some squiggly drawings. After moving home and gaining strength in my shoulders from friggen never-ending therapy and exercise, I was able to draw without the help of someone holding my arm for me. Eventually I began experimenting with watercolor, acrylic, and oil painting. I’ve survived breaking my neck, multiple organ infections, a massive blood clot, and cancer. Now I work full time creating and selling my work. Not too bad, because at one point I had no idea what to do with my life. And I can’t be killed. So I got that goin for me, which is nice.
